The Columbus East freshman football team kept their momentum rolling Saturday morning at John Stafford Field inside Bob Gaddis Stadium, blanking the Bloomington North Cougars 27-0 to extend their winning streak. The Olympians’ offense was steady and balanced, with Eli Dykstra finding the end zone twice on the ground. Quarterback Ridge Koester connected with Owen Hatfield for a touchdown pass to keep the Cougars on their heels. The East defense set the tone early and didn’t let up, forcing multiple turnovers that stalled any Bloomington North momentum. Jayden Dehart came up big with a pick-six, while Luke Lienhoop and Isaac Smith each added interceptions to complete the dominant defensive effort. With the shutout win, the Olympians continue to build confidence and consistency heading into their next matchup. Columbus East will return home next Saturday to host the East Central Trojans in another key test.
