The Columbus East boys tennis team closed out its 2025 campaign Thursday evening, falling to cross-town rival and sectional host Columbus North in the semifinal round of the IHSAA Sectional. The Olympians couldn’t gain traction against the 23rd-ranked Bull Dogs, dropping all five positions in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. At singles, Trevor Ernst battled at No. 1, Kai Bergmann competed at No. 2, and Landon Redelman rounded out the lineup at No. 3. In doubles play, Michael Reed and Micah Wettschurack paired at the top spot, while Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry teamed up at No. 2 doubles. Despite their efforts, the Olympians were unable to push through against North’s experienced roster. With the loss, East finishes the season with a 4-20 record. While the year ended on a tough note, the Olympians gained valuable match experience that will carry forward as the program continues to develop. Thank you Olympians for a great season. Keep working hard!
