East Soccer, Tennis Teams Draw Tough Sectional Matchups The IHSAA boys and girls soccer tournament draw placed both Columbus East squads against powerhouse Center Grove in their opening sectional games. The Olympian boys will face Center Grove on Oct. 7 in the second match of the Class 3A sectional at Whiteland. The winner advances to the semifinals Oct. 8, with the championship set for Oct. 11. On the girls’ side, East will take on No. 9 Center Grove on Oct. 9 in the second semifinal at Greenwood. The sectional final will be played Oct. 11. In boys tennis, Columbus East will meet crosstown rival Columbus North in the sectional semifinals Thursday at North. The winner advances to Friday’s championship.
