The Columbus East freshman football team made a statement on Saturday morning in Floyds Knob, rolling past Hoosier Hills Conference rival Floyd Central, 49-27, to officially claim the HHC freshman football championship. The Olympian offense exploded behind quarterback play and timely execution. Miles Broaddus was unstoppable, hauling in four touchdown receptions. Owen Hatfield added another receiving score, while Eli Dykstra powered in a rushing touchdown. On the defensive side, Isaac Smith delivered the play of the game with a momentum-shifting interception return for a touchdown. With the win, the Olympians capped off their conference run in dominant fashion and brought home the freshman league title. East now turns its attention to non-conference action, as they will host Bloomington North next Saturday at 10 a.m. at Stafford Field at Bob Gaddis Stadium. CONGRATS O's!!
