The Columbus East boys soccer team kept the offense rolling on Saturday afternoon at the BCSC Soccer Complex, blanking the Batesville Bulldogs 5-0. The Olympians set the tone early with a pair of first-half goals from Cristian De Dios, who was set up by Ethan Glick and Ronan Maier. Carrying a 2-0 lead into halftime, East added to the cushion shortly after the break. Emilio Quintero Aguirre scored off an assist from Eduardo Aranda Michel to make it 3-0. The Olympians weren’t finished, as Glick netted a goal of his own on a feed from Jonathan Sylva, before Quintero Aguirre struck again late, with Sylva earning another assist. The Olympians controlled the pace throughout, limiting Batesville to just one shot on goal while peppering the Bulldogs’ defense with consistent pressure. In the junior varsity match, East also came away victorious, earning a 4-0 win. With the victory, the Olympians close out their home slate in dominant fashion and now turn their focus to two critical Hoosier Hills Conference road tests next week at Floyd Central and New Albany. Another conference championship hangs in the balance!
