Olympians Fall Short at Batesville, 4-2

The Columbus East girls soccer team hit the road Thursday night to face Class 2A No. 17 Batesville. The Olympians battled throughout the match but ultimately came up short, dropping a 4-2 decision to the Bulldogs. Columbus East got on the scoreboard when Morgan Scott delivered a goal off a free kick. Later, Sophie Glick found the back of the net after a setup from Natasha Armstrong. Despite their effort and late push, the Olympians couldn’t overcome Batesville’s attack, leaving the final score at 4-2 in favor of the Bulldogs. The O's are back in action this Saturday, September 13th when they travel to Floyd Central High School to face HHC opponent the Floyd Central Highlanders. Match time: 11:30 a.m.
