Olympians Fall 4-1 at East Central Despite Redelman's Gritty Win

East Central H.S. — The Columbus East boys tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision on the road Wednesday against East Central, with one bright spot coming from Landon Redelman, who pulled out a hard-fought victory. Redelman came from behind after losing the opening set 5-7 and rallied to win the second set 6-4. He then secured the win in a thrilling super-tiebreaker, 10-6, giving the Olympians their lone point of the match. The rest of the team struggled to find momentum. Kai Bergmann lost 6-1, 6-3, and Trevor Ernst fell 6-3, 6-4 in their respective singles matches. In doubles action, Michael Reed and Micah Wettschurack pushed their match to a third-set tiebreak after a strong 6-3 win in the second set, but were narrowly defeated 1-6, 6-3, (10-8). Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry lost 6-2, 6-0 in their match. On the horizon, the O's travel to Batesville tonight (9/11) for a 5 p.m. start time and then travel to Shelbyville H.S. this Saturday, September 13th to play in the Shelbyville Invite. Match play begins at 9 a.m.
