The Columbus East boys soccer team continued its strong start in Hoosier Hills Conference play Tuesday night, cruising to a 6-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence at the BCSC Soccer Complex. The win moves the Olympians to 3-0 in HHC league action. East wasted little time setting the tone. David Sylva opened the scoring with a penalty kick, and moments later Emilio Quintero Aguirre doubled the lead off a feed from Cristian De Dios. The offense kept rolling as Miguel Ferrer converted a setup from Jon Sylva, and Quintero Aguirre struck again thanks to an assist from Farid Garcia Renteria. By halftime, the Olympians held a commanding 4-0 lead. The pressure didn’t let up in the second half. De Dios found the back of the net with help from Quintero Aguirre, before Quintero Aguirre capped the scoring with his third goal of the night, assisted by Ferrer. In total, 28 players saw the field for East, and the defense held firm, limiting the Stars to just a single shot attempt. Goalkeepers Ryder Meek and Kavan Brooks combined for the shutout in net. The Olympians dominated possession and created chances throughout, finishing with 36 shots, 20 of which were on target. Columbus East will now turn its attention to a tough road test Saturday against Class 3A No. 4 Fishers.
