King Earns Medalist, Olympians Fall Short Against Shelbyville

The Columbus East girls golf team battled the Shelbyville Golden Bears in a close match Thursday evening, coming up just two strokes shy in a 225-223 decision. Abby King led the Olympians with a strong round, earning medalist honors by posting a 52. She was backed by consistent efforts throughout the lineup, as Calleigh Gill carded a 56, Sofia Perez added a 58, and Amaylie Walsh followed closely with a 59. Rounding out the East scores, Emma Gill shot a 61, Caroline Grider contributed a 65, and Briella Walsh finished with a 68. Despite the narrow setback, the Olympians showed balance across the roster, with several players bunched closely together on the scorecard. The O's will be back on the links when they host the Seymour Owls at Otter Creek G.C. Tuesday, September 9th. Match time: 4:15 p.m.
