The Columbus East boys tennis team traveled to Jennings County Thursday evening, where the Olympians battled hard but came up just short, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Panthers. East’s points came from strong singles play. At No. 2 singles, Kai Bergmann continued his dominant season with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. At No. 3 singles, Landon Redelman delivered another solid performance, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win. With those results, Bergmann and Redelman remain undefeated in Hoosier Hills Conference play. Despite the two singles wins, the Olympians couldn’t quite complete the comeback as Jennings County secured victories in the remaining matches. The setback snapped East’s two-match winning streak, but the team still showed bright spots with Bergmann and Redelman leading the way. The O's face another HHC opponent when they travel to Floyds Knobs, IN to gace the Floyd Central Highlanders on Monday, September 8th. Match time: 5:30 p.m.
