Olympians Sweep Eagles

The Columbus East boys tennis team made it two wins in two days with a commanding 5-0 victory over Brown County Wednesday evening at the East courts. At the top of the singles lineup, Trevor Ernst delivered a solid performance, winning 6-3, 6-1. Kai Bergmann battled through two close sets to secure a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles, while Landon Redelman dominated at No. 3 singles, not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. In doubles play, the Olympians stayed strong. The No. 1 pairing of Michael Reed and Micah Wettschurack earned a 6-4, 6-3 win, while the No. 2 duo of Leo Rivera and Hadley McQueary came through in straight sets as well, taking a 7-6 (5), 6-3 decision. The O's hit the road tonight, September 4th, when they face familiar Hoosier Hills Conference opponent, the Jennings County Panthers. Match time: 5 p.m.
