Gill Leads Olympians to First-Place Finish at Shadowood Tri-Meet

The Columbus East girls golf team turned in a winning performance Tuesday afternoon at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, finishing first in a three-team match against Trinity Lutheran and Christian Academy of Indiana. The Olympians posted a team total of 211 to claim top honors. Host Trinity Lutheran followed with a 231, while Christian Academy of Indiana placed third at 246. East’s Calleigh Gill earned medalist honors with a round of 50. Abby King was close behind with a 51, while Emma Gill and Amaylie Walsh each carded 55s to round out the scoring. Sofia Perez (60) and Kolbi Stephenson (63) also contributed to the effort. The Olympians are back in action on Thursday, September 4, when they host the Shelbyville Golden Bears at Otter Creek Golf Course. Tee time is set for 5 p.m.
