Olympians Go 3-1 at Madison Invitational

The Columbus East girls volleyball team put together a strong showing Saturday at the Madison Invitational, finishing with a 3-1 record. The Olympians opened the day with straight-set victories over Lawrenceburg (25-20, 25-20) and Rock Creek Academy (25-20, 25-9). East then battled Christian Academy of Indiana before falling in two close sets (25-23, 25-15). The O’s bounced back to close out the tournament with a three-set win over South Dearborn (15-25, 25-18, 15-11). Addy Dean powered the attack with 24 kills and 10 blocks, while setter Payten Osborn turned in a standout effort with 37 assists and seven aces. Defensively, Krea Martin collected 40 digs, and Chloe Gill chipped in with seven aces at the service line. Other contributors included Izzy Rice with 11 kills, Kenlee Gault with 29 assists, Anika Jenkins with seven blocks, and Kadence Smith with 12 digs.
