The Columbus East girls soccer team hosted city rival Columbus North on Wednesday night at the BCSC Soccer Complex, where the Olympians came up short in an 8-0 decision. North jumped out to an early lead and carried a 3-0 advantage into halftime. The Bull Dogs continued to find the net after the break, pulling away in the second half. Despite the difficult night, goalkeeper Cara Veach turned in a busy performance in net for East, collecting several saves under constant pressure. The Olympians will now have some time to regroup before returning to action on September 9 with a Hoosier Hills Conference matchup at Bedford North Lawrence. 6 p.m. start time.
