The Columbus East freshman football team defended their home turf Saturday morning in the Fire Pit, grinding out a 14-0 victory over the Bloomington South Panthers. It was a hard-hitting battle from start to finish, but the Olympians found their edge on the ground. Owen Hatfield provided the offensive spark, scoring both of East’s touchdowns on tough runs to push the O’s ahead. The defense matched that intensity, forcing turnovers and keeping the Panthers off the scoreboard. Jayden Dehart came up with a key fumble recovery, helping secure the shutout for the Olympians. With the win, the East freshmen build momentum as they prepare to hit the road next Saturday for a crosstown showdown against Columbus North. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m.
