The Columbus East boys tennis team notched their first win of the season on Saturday at the Whiteland Warrior Invitational, finishing the day with a 1-2 record. The Olympians edged Tri-West 3-2 to secure the team’s opening victory of the year. In that match, Landon Redelman earned a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, while Kai Bergmann claimed a straight-set decision at No. 3 singles. At No. 2 doubles, the team of Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry battled through three sets to seal the deciding point. East later dropped matches to Linton (5-0) and host Whiteland (4-1). Against the Warriors, Bergmann fought hard for a three-set win at No. 3 singles to give the Olympians their lone point. Columbus East will be back on the court Monday, August 25th, when they travel to face Hoosier Hills Conference opponent Bedford North Lawrence. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
