Olympians Take Fifth at Seymour Invitational

The Columbus East girls golf team returned to the course Tuesday morning, finishing fifth in the Seymour Owls Girls Golf Invitational at Shadowood Golf Course. New Albany narrowly claimed the team title with a score of 337, edging out Bedford North Lawrence by a single stroke. The Olympians posted a 443 to land in fifth place, finishing ahead of Jennings County (463) and Trinity Lutheran (550). For the second straight day, Abby King paced Columbus East with a 103. Amaylie Walsh followed with a 108, while Emma Gill turned in a 109. Calleigh Gill contributed a 123, and Sofia Perez rounded out the scoring with a 129. The Olympians continue their early-season schedule this week as they head to Whiteland High School this Thursday, August 7th to compete in a triangular meet with the Whiteland Warriors and Greenfield-Central Cougars.
