Olympians Set for Softball Sectional Championship Showdown Tonight

The Columbus East Olympian softball team is just one win away from a sectional title. They’ll take the field tonight, Thursday, May 29, in the IHSAA Class 4A Sectional 14 Championship against Whiteland. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at East Central High School. The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the IHSAA Regional round , where they’ll go on the road to face the Sectional 13 champion, Terre Haute North. Ticket Link: [Purchase Tickets Here](https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=130080) Team Dugouts: Home Team: Whiteland (3rd base dugout) Visiting Team: Columbus East (1st base dugout) Pregame Timeline: 4:45 p.m. – Field opens 5:30 p.m. – Gates open to spectators 6:00–6:10 p.m. – Whiteland infield warmup 6:10–6:20 p.m. – Columbus East infield warmup 6:20–6:25 p.m. – Coaches and umpires meeting 6:25 p.m. – Roster introductions and National Anthem Postgame Details: Following the final out, fans are asked to wait until the celebration and handshake line are complete. At that time: 1. The losing coach will receive a commemorative game ball. 2. The winning coach will be presented with the Sectional Championship trophy and a game ball. 3. Fans from the winning school may take the field for photos after the losing team has exited the field and dugout area. East Central's athletic staff asks for assistance from the winning school's personnel at the field entrance gates to help manage post game field access.
