The Columbus East boys golf team traveled to Madison on Monday evening for a non-conference showdown at the scenic Sunrise Golf Club. In a tightly contested match, the Olympians came up just short, falling to the host Madison Cubs by a narrow 161-158 margin. Senior Carter Greene turned in a strong round to pace East, firing a 37 to lead all Olympian golfers. Mason Reeves and Braxton Burton were close behind, each posting a 40. Ethan Bumbalough rounded out the team score with a 41. Also contributing to the team’s solid performance were Luke Rice and Danny Coriden, who both carded 44s. Jackson Miller finished with a 45, and Jase Hoffman added a 47 on the day. The Olympians are back in action tonight (5/13) when they host a tri-match at Otter Creek G.C., featuring the Jennings County Panthers and the Edinburgh Lancers. Start time: 4:30 p.m. Good luck O's!
