COLUMBUS EAST — The Columbus East girls tennis team hosted East Central on Tuesday evening at the Olympians Tennis Complex, where the visiting Trojans claimed a 5-0 victory. At No. 1 singles, Lauren Degner put up a determined effort before falling 6-4, 7-6 (5) in a closely contested match. Bruna Carreira dropped her match 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Lilli Smith came up short 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. In doubles play, Saya Hauser and Zoe White at No. 1 and Stefani Christopher and Luci Morales at No. 2 were both edged 6-0, 6-0. The Olympians continue to work through the schedule with a focus on development and steady improvement.
