SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — The Columbus East boys golf team hit the road Monday for a dual match against the Shelbyville Golden Bears at Blue Bear Golf Club. Despite a competitive showing, the Olympians came up short, falling 185-164. Carter Greene led the way for East, turning in the team's low round with a 41. Mason Reeves followed with a 45, while Ethan Bumbalough posted a 46. Rounding out the scoring for the Olympians were Luke Rice (50) and Braxton Burton (55). The match provided valuable experience for the team as they continue to build momentum this spring. Next up, Columbus East will compete in the Trojan Classic Invitational, hosted by Center Grove High School on Saturday, April 19. The invitational, which begins at 2:00 PM EDT, will feature a strong field including local and regional contenders such as Columbus North, Franklin Community, Bloomington North, and Westfield, among others. The Olympians will look to sharpen their skills and make a strong showing in the deep and competitive field.
