The Columbus East Olympian middle school softball team split a doubleheader against Indian Creek this week, taking the opener 7-1 before falling 12-3 in the second contest. Adela Garmene led the way in Game 1, pitching three strong innings and striking out seven batters to earn the win. The Olympians backed her up with solid defense and timely hitting to secure the victory. In Game 2, Shelby Williams provided a bright spot at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI, but Indian Creek’s offense proved too much to overcome.
