2024 IHSAA Boys Basketball Sectional Hosted by: Columbus East High School Dates: March 4th ,7th and 8th Site: The Orange Pit at Columbus East High School Participants: Columbus East, Columbus North, East Central, Franklin Community, and Whiteland. *The home team is the second team listed. They will wear white uniforms and their bench will be on the East side of the gym. Order of Events: Tuesday, March 4 Game 1: C. North vs C. East 7:30 pm (EST) Main Entry Open For Participating Teams: 5:30 pm Doors Open for Spectators: 6:30 pm 20-minute Warmups: 7:05 pm National Anthem: 7:25 pm Team Introductions: 7:27 pm Tip-Off: 7:30 pm ________________ Friday, March 7 Game 2: Whiteland vs East Central: 6:00 pm (EST) Main Entry Open For Participating Teams: 4:00 pm Doors Open for Spectators: 5:00 pm 20-minute Warmups: 5:35 pm National Anthem: 5:55 pm Team Introductions: 5:57 pm Tip-Off: 6:00 pm _______________ **The warm-up period for game 3 will begin immediately following the conclusion of game 2, as soon as the teams have cleared the floor and bench area. A horn will sound to start warmups. We will play the National Anthem before every game. Friday, March 7th Game 3: Franklin vs Winner of CEHS/CNHS 20-minute warmups (will begin after the floor is cleared) National Anthem Team Introductions Tip-Off _________ Saturday, March 8th Sectional Championship: 7:00 pm (EST) Main Entry Open For Participating Teams: 5:00 pm Doors Open for Spectators: 6:00 pm Warmups: 6:35 pm National Anthem: 6:55 pm Team Introductions: 6:56 pm Tip-Off: 7:00 pm Sectional Championship Game Conclusion: The Championship team will receive a trophy and one of the game balls, and the runner-up team will also receive the game ball. The Sectional Runner-Up presentation will be first. Please have someone prepared to accept the award after the game. After the Championship Trophy and game ball presentation, the championship team will cut down the net. Tickets for fans are $7.00 and we will offer digital and cash tickets. We encourage fans to buy tickets before they arrive but they can purchase a digital ticket at the gate with a QR code. Seating: The home team will have the East half of the gym, with the student section directly across from the team bench and the adults behind the team bench. The away team will have the same on the west side of the gym. Signs will be posted. Spectator Entrance: All fans will enter through the Main Athletic Entrance (door #48). For anyone needing handicapped access, there is a ramp leading to door 48 and a handicap-accessible door on the far left facing the entrance. An elevator is near the ticket booth if needed. Player Bench Occupants During a Game: The 16 eligible players and 2 coaches may occupy the players' bench. All other team personnel can sit directly behind it. Restrictions: Principals should inform student and adult fans of the following tourney restrictions: Balloons, banners and/or posters, shakers on sticks, etc. are not permitted. Cowbells and other such noise devices are not permitted. No live animal mascots are permitted. “Line-up” lanes of fans shall not be permitted on the playing floor at any time. Carry-in radios, cassette and tape decks, etc., are prohibited in the gymnasium. Concessions will be available, cash only.
