Columbus East Faces Tough Test Against Columbus North

The Columbus East gymnastics team took on city rival Columbus North in a road meet Thursday night, continuing to build experience as they prepare for the postseason. The Olympians finished with a team score of 90.1, while North claimed the victory with a 107.7. Bethany Lewis led East, overcoming an ankle injury to deliver solid performances across all four events. She placed fourth in the all-around with a score of 33.7, highlighted by an 8.75 on vault, 8.35 on bars, and 8.625 on floor. Sophia Begley and Grace Collier also contributed key routines for the Olympians, gaining valuable competition reps ahead of the upcoming sectional. East will look to finish the regular season strong when it hosts Seymour on Monday, February 24th before turning its focus to the Franklin Central Sectional on Feb. 28.
