Competing shorthanded against Bloomington South and Edgewood, the Columbus East gymnastics team put forth a determined effort despite missing two gymnasts due to illness and injury. Senior Sophia Begley delivered a steady performance, highlighted by a no-fall beam routine and a personal best. Freshman Gracie Collier also impressed, earning sixth place on floor and setting three personal records across the meet. On the JV side, freshman Leigh Vendergriff shined with a first-place finish on bars. With a break before their next meet against Columbus North, the Olympians are focused on refining their routines and adding new skills as they continue to push for growth.
