Columbus East ran into the top-ranked team in Class 3A on Thursday night, falling to unbeaten Brownstown Central 67-31 at the Orange Pit. The Olympians (11-7) were without three of their top six players due to injury and couldn’t keep pace with the Braves, who took control early and never looked back. Grayson Watters led East with seven points, while Carter Patterson added six. Keaton Lawson, Judah Lewis, and Jayden Thompson each finished with four points. Columbus East will look to regroup as it prepares for another tough matchup against Hoosier Hills Conference opponent 4A # 8 New Albany on Saturday afternoon. JV starts at 12:30 p.m., varsity game to follow.
