Freshman O’s Stay Perfect with Another 2-0 Weekend

The Columbus East freshman boys basketball team continued their dominant season, improving to 15-0 after another 2-0 weekend. The O’s rolled past East Central with a commanding 62-13 win at home on Friday before staging an impressive comeback victory at Bloomington North, 49-41, on Saturday. Dominant Performance Against East Central: East wasted no time asserting their dominance Friday night, storming out to a 24-2 first-quarter lead and taking a 38-3 advantage into halftime. The game was never in doubt as the O’s spread the scoring across the roster, with nine of 11 players getting in the scoring column. Connor Rodarte led the way with 10 points, while Josiah Shelton and Kam Robertson each added nine. Comeback Win at Bloomington North: Saturday’s game at Bloomington North proved to be a much tougher test. The O’s found themselves in an unfamiliar position, trailing by as much as 11 points and facing a 26-18 deficit at halftime. However, they responded in dominant fashion, outscoring the Cougars 16-8 in the third quarter to even the game before closing strong with a 15-7 fourth-quarter edge. Kam Robertson and Keatin Roberts stepped up in the clutch, each finishing with 14 points to fuel the comeback victory. As they look to complete a perfect season, the O’s will aim to keep their momentum rolling in the final stretch.
