Bethany Lewis Leads Columbus East Gymnastics at Triangular Meet with Roncalli and Bloomington North

The Columbus East gymnastics team competed in a triangular meet on Saturday against Bloomington North High School and the host team, the Roncalli Royals. While the team encountered some challenges, especially early on bars, they delivered consistent performances in other events and achieved a couple of season personal records (PRs). Bethany Lewis Shines Senior standout Bethany Lewis had an impressive meet, placing in the top three across multiple events. Her results included: - **Vault:** 8.7 (2nd place) - **Bars:** 7.85 (6th place) - **Beam:** 9.3 (2nd place) - **Floor:** 9.175 (1st place) - **All-Around (AA):** 35.025 (3rd place) Lewis's victory on floor highlighted her talent and reliability as a leader for the team. Team Results As a team, Columbus East placed 3rd overall. While the overall team results weren’t among the top scores, the girls stayed consistent on most events after their struggles on bars. Looking Ahead While team success has been limited, the focus remains on supporting individual performances like those from Lewis and working through challenges one meet at a time. The Olympians are back in action Tuesday January 28th as they host Rushville High School in the Orange Pit. Meet time: 6 p.m.
