Columbus East High School

The Columbus East girls swimming and diving team put up a solid performance in Saturday afternoon’s Hoosier Hills Conference tournament held at Bedford North Lawrence High School. The Olympians secured a sixth-place finish with a total of 110 points. Leading the charge for Columbus East was Connelly Furnish, who delivered an outstanding victory in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 24.71 seconds. Furnish also claimed second place in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:03.55. In the diving competition, Ainsley Shaw stood out with a strong fourth-place finish, earning a score of 261.20. Cassidy Furnish also made valuable contributions, finishing sixth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:05.45 and eighth in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:16.34. While Seymour emerged victorious in the meet with 302 points, the Olympians showcased determination and skill, competing admirably against HHC competition.
