Carter Patterson delivered an impressive performance, leading his team with 22 points. Keaton Lawson also contributed significantly, adding 15 points to the scoreboard. The game highlighted some bright spots but underscored the difficulty of competing on the road against a seasoned Bloomington South squad. The team returned to action on Saturday night against the Seymour Owls in a Hoosier Hills Conference matchup. After starting the season strong at 9-1, Columbus East (9-4) suffered its third loss in five days, dropping the game 57-42. Patterson once again led the Olympians with 17 points, while Lawson chipped in 13. Grayson Watters added seven points, reflecting the team’s effort to stay competitive against a tough Owls lineup. The Olympians have a few days to regroup before hosting last years 3A state champions, the Scottsburg Warriors on Friday January 24th and will then host class 4A Top 15 team the Jeffersonville Red Devils on Saturday, January 25th.
