New Year - Same Results! O's Win at Mooresville

The Olympians started 2025 off on the right foot, getting a close road win at Mooresville High School, 65-62 over the Pioneers. The Olympians trailed the majority of the game, down 29-25 at the half and down 48-43 at the end of the 3rd quarter. But the O's saved their best offensive quarter for 4th quarter, scoring 22 points and limiting Mooresville to 14 points to escape with the win. The Olympians got scoring from seven different players on the evening, led by Carter Patterson, who lead all scorers with 20 points on the night. All five starters scored in the Olympians big 4th quarter and had four starters with double-digit scoring for the evening. Interesting stat lines: The Olympians went to the foul line only 4 times for the entire game, with the Pioneers making it to the line 15 times in the game, with seven of those times being in the 2nd half. The Olympians had 17 turn-overs, with three coming in the 4th quarter. Scoring by quarter - CEHS 1st - 17 | 2nd: 8 | 3rd: 18 | 4th: 22 MHS 1st - 12 | 2nd: 17 | 3rd: 19 | 4th: 14 Olympian scoring: Carter Patterson: 20 points - 2-3pts & 7-2pts (12 points in the 2nd half) Keaton Lawson: 13 points - 1-3pts & 5-2pts (7 points in the 4th, big 3 pointer in the 4th) Ethan Bumbalough: 11 points - 2-3pts, 2-2pts, and 1-2 free throws (big 3 pointer in the 4th quarter) Mason Reeves: 10 points - 2-3pts 1-2pts, and 2-2 free throws ( a big three in the 4th, plus two crucial free throws in the 4th quarter) Alex Duncan: 6 points - 3-2pts (all in the 2nd half) Danny Coriden: 3 points - 1-3pts Jayden Thompson: 2 points - 1-2pts (4th quarter bucket) The Olympians (8-1), now winners of three in a row, will face Hoosier Hills Conference member, the Floyd Central Highlanders, on Saturday, January 11th at the Orange Pit. Frosh/JV start at 6 p.m., with the varsity tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
