Columbus East Falls Short Against Southwestern Hanover in DiTech Holiday Tournament, Looks Ahead to Next Matchup

The Columbus East girls basketball team faced the Southwestern Hanover Rebels this afternoon (12/26) at Hauser High School during the DiTech Holiday Tournament. The Olympians put up a valiant effort, staying competitive throughout the game. At halftime, they trailed by just six points, 22-16, and remained within striking distance at the end of the third quarter, down 28-23. However, the Rebels turned up the intensity in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points to secure a 44-32 victory over the Olympians. Despite the loss, Columbus East will have another chance to showcase their skills later in the tournament. Upcoming Games: The Olympians will take on Greenwood Christian Academy on Friday, December 27, at 12 p.m. at Hauser High School. A win against the GCA Cougars would advance them to the 5th-place game, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 28. A loss, however, would place them in the 7th-place game at 12 p.m. the same day.
