Jessup was introduced to wrestling by his father at the age of five, but Jessup's passion for the sport ignited around eight or nine. “I first stepped on the mat when I was five, my dad just kind of threw me out there, but I really fell in love with wrestling around eight or nine years old. My youth coach became a huge inspiration to me and I realized I wanted to wrestle for the rest of my life.” Jessup told Hoosier Prep Wrestling. He has tirelessly honed his skills and techniques over the years, reflecting on last season's seventh-place finish at the state tournament as both a validation of his potential and a catalyst for his ambition. “I have a huge range of emotions on how I feel about last season.” Jessup stated. “Finishing 7th made me realize that I was capable of being a state placer, but also lit a fire under me to chase a state title.” Starting this season with a strong mindset, Jessup emphasizes personal growth over mere victories. “My goal this season, as with every season, is to become the absolute best version of myself that is possible. I am not so much focused on winning as I am the journey.” Jessup said. Jessup has many impressive accolades and achievements including being a state placer, a two time sectional champion, a two time regional champion, an HHC champion, and Grappler Fall Classic Champion. His achievements are a testament to his relentless work ethic and the unwavering support he receives from those around him. “My success is 100 percent dedicated to two things: my work ethic on and off the mat, and my incredible support system that I have in all aspects of my life.” Said Jessup.
