The Class 3A No. 1 Columbus East boys’ team extended their unbeaten streak to 13-0 with a 52-5 victory, demonstrating resilience and perseverance in several tightly contested matches. Standout Performances: Four Olympians won by pin, including James Moss (215), who secured an overtime pin despite battling illness. Technical falls were achieved by Hank Redman (175) and 16th-ranked Colin McMahon (190). Hard-fought decisions included Caleb Kirkpatrick (144) with a 1-0 win and Clayton Miller (165) edging out his opponent 14-13. A great pin from 9th ranked Gage Rutan at 138 lbs and a OT win for Dominic Piper at 285. Closing Strong: The Olympians wrapped up the dual with back-to-back pins from Ethan Poling (113) and Talon Jessup (120), ranked seventh in the state. Way to Go "O" Block - The atmosphere at the boys' & girls match was electric, fueled by a massive turnout from Columbus East students. The student section, was one of the largest seen at an Olympian wrestling meet, brought an undeniable energy to the event. The "O" Block, the spirited student section, played a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable environment, cheering their team to victory with unwavering enthusiasm.
