Olympians Fall to Jeffersonville in HHC Matchup

The Columbus East girls basketball team traveled to Jeffersonville, Indiana, on Saturday afternoon to take on Hoosier Hills Conference rival, the Jeffersonville Red Devils. Despite an inspired effort, the Olympians fell 56-41 in a competitive contest. Kimberley Carothers led the way for Columbus East with 14 points, scoring six field goals and going a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Ella Anthis added 10 points, including two three-pointers. Kenzie Cheek chipped in 8 points with two three-point baskets, while Lola Watkins contributed 7 points, highlighted by her 5-of-6 performance from the free-throw line. Krea Martin rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The scoring by quarter showed the Olympians’ determination, but Jeffersonville maintained control throughout: - Columbus East: 12, 6, 13, 10 - Jeffersonville: 18, 10, 12, 16 The Olympians will now turn their attention to their cross-town rival Columbus North.
