Olympians Face Tough Challenge Against No. 11 Floyd Central

The Columbus East girls basketball team traveled to Floyds Knobs on Tuesday night for their first Hoosier Hills Conference matchup of the season against the Floyd Central Highlanders. The Olympians faced a formidable opponent, as Floyd Central is ranked 11th in Class 4A, and the Highlanders secured a decisive 65-21 victory. Scoring Breakdown for Columbus East: Kimberly Carothers: 10 points (4 field goals, 2-of-6 free throws) Lola Watkins: 3 points (1 three-pointer) Ella Anthis: 2 points Krea Martin: 2 points Lucie Ross: 2 points Averie Graham: 2 points The Olympians will look to bounce back this Saturday, December 14th, when they travel to Jeffersonville, IN for another Hoosier Hills Conference matchup against the Jeffersonville Red Devils. Jv tip-off 12 p.m., with the varsity game to follow.
