In a landmark moment for Indiana High School Girls Wrestling, the Columbus East girls wrestling team began their inaugural season with a commanding 64-15 victory over the Seymour Owls. The Olympians’ historic debut showcased their strength and determination in this first-ever sanctioned season for girls wrestling in the state. A Night of Olympian Victories: The dual meet began at 170 pounds, where Ashley Mannis claimed the first win of the evening by forfeit. From there, the Olympians built unstoppable momentum: - Monica McMahon (190 pounds) earned a forfeit victory. - Sydney Morrow (110 pounds) also won by forfeit. - Taylor Engelking (115 pounds) secured a win by fall. - Saige Plummer (120 pounds) added another pin for East. - Eliana Burton (125 pounds) triumphed with a win by fall. - Madison Mount (130 pounds) dominated with a major decision. - Maddie Swartzentruber (135 pounds) claimed victory via forfeit. - Issabel Wakefield (140 pounds) achieved a pin to extend the lead. - Eden Knight (145 pounds) followed suit with another win by fall. - Lucy Destin (155 pounds) capped off the evening with a forfeit win.
