The Columbus East girls basketball team faced a tough challenge Tuesday night, hosting the Class 2A No. 4 Brownstown Central Braves in the Orange Pit. Despite their efforts, the Olympians fell to the Braves 62-32. The Olympians struggled to find their rhythm early, giving up 19 points in the first quarter while scoring just eight. By halftime, they trailed 34-19, and Brownstown Central maintained consistent offensive and defensive pressure in the second half to secure the win. Kimberly Carothers led the way for Columbus East with 11 points, connecting on three two-point field goals and going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Ella Anthis contributed eight points, including two three-pointers and a two-point field goal. Additional scorers for the Olympians included Kenzie Cheek with six points, Averie Graham with five points, and Lola Watkins, who added two points. The Olympians will look to regroup as they prepare to host the Bloomington North Cougars on Tuesday, December 3rd, back at the Orange Pit.
