Columbus East Girls Wrestling Shines at Gopher Invitational

The Columbus East girls wrestling team turned in a stellar performance on Saturday at the Clinton Prairie High School Gopher Invitational, battling it out in a highly competitive field of 50 teams. While no official team scores were recorded, the Olympians claimed a SOLID second-place finish despite missing members of their squad on the day. Notable Performances: Grace McMahon (4-0) and Monica McMahon (5-0) stole the spotlight, each dominating their brackets to earn championship titles. Taylor Engelking (4-1) battled her way to an impressive runner-up finish. Madison Mount (5-1) and Tienica Dits (2-2) both secured 5th place finishes. Saige Plummer (4-2) and Madison Swartzentruber (4-2) each earning 6th place in their weight classes. Maddie Shrader (2-2) rounded out the team's efforts with a strong showing. The team’s outstanding results underscore the depth of talent in the program and the athletes' ability to rise to the occasion, even when shorthanded!! Looking Ahead: The Olympian girls wrestling team has a chance to showcase their skills in the friendly confines of the Orange Pit as they host the Seymour Owls on Thursday, December 5th.
