Olympians Battle Hard but Fall Short in Season Opener Against Techies

The Columbus East Olympian girls basketball team kicked off their 2024-2025 winter sports season on Tuesday night, facing a tough challenge on the road against Purdue Poly Englewood Techies. Despite a determined effort, the Olympians fell short, ending with a 59-36 loss. Leading the way for East was Lola Watkins, who poured in 15 points with three 3-pointers. Kenzi Cheek also contributed a strong performance with 11 points, followed by Kimberley Carothers with 7 points. Ella Anthis rounded out the scoring with 3 points for the Olympians. Next up, the Olympians will travel to Bloomington to take on the Bloomington South Panthers on Saturday, November 9th. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
