A Night to Remember: Olympians Celebrate Homecoming 2024

By Dennis Pierce | Oct 6, 2024 10:42 AM

Columbus East celebrated Homecoming 2024 in true Olympian fashion on Friday night, with a blend of tradition, pride, and school spirit. Several CEHS alumni cheerleaders took the field once again, joining the current cheer squads to rally the crowd and energize the night. Students added to the festive atmosphere by turning the stands into a sea of vibrant colors for Colors Night before the game, making the evening even more special. In a heartwarming ceremony, football player Cam Herron was crowned the 2024 Homecoming King, alongside cheerleader Skyelar Ross, who was named Homecoming Queen. Their smiles lit up the night as they represented the spirit and unity of Columbus East. While the Olympians fought hard on the field, they fell just short in a competitive battle, losing 28-20 to the fourth-ranked Bloomington North Cougars. Despite the loss, it was a night filled with pride, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime.
