CEHS Cross-Country Teams Compete in Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament

The Columbus East boys and girls cross-country teams hosted the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament on familiar turf at CERA Sports Park in Columbus on Saturday morning. The Olympian girls had an impressive showing, finishing in fourth place with a score of 126. Floyd Central dominated the field, claiming the top honor with a near-perfect score of 19. Leading the charge for East was Madison Swartzentruber, who placed 19th overall, covering the 5,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 39.73 seconds. On the boys' side, Columbus East finished sixth with a team score of 144. Norman Dickson was the top finisher for the Olympians, crossing the line in 17th place with a time of 17:41.23. Floyd Central also took home the boys' title with a team score of 51 points. With the regular season now in the rearview mirror, both Columbus East squads will look to build on these results as they head into the postseason.
