Columbus East High School

The Columbus East boys tennis team faced the Hauser Jets in the opening round of the IHSAA Sectional on Wednesday afternoon at Columbus North High School. Unfortunately, the Olympians (3-18) saw their season come to an end with a 4-1 defeat to the Jets. Despite the team loss, senior Tyler Ernst shined for the Olympians, winning his No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1. Ernst's victory allows him to advance in the individual tournament, extending his season. Match Results: -No. 1 Singles: Tyler Ernst (East) won 6-4, 6-1 - No. 2 Singles: Owen Kirk (East) lost 6-0, 6-3 - No. 3 Singles: Michael Reed (East) lost 6-2, 6-0 - No. 1 Doubles: Trevor Ernst / Micah Wettschurack (East) lost 6-1, 6-1 - No. 2 Doubles: Jonas Newell / Carson Hartsook (East) lost 6-0, 6-1 As the season concludes for Columbus East, the team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to its seniors for their dedication and leadership throughout the year.
