The Columbus East boys tennis team faced a tough challenge Thursday as they hosted Hoosier Hills Conference rival, Seymour. The Owls won the match, winning all five matches in straight sets for a 5-0 victory. In singles play, the Olympians’ No. 1, Tyler Ernst lost 6-1, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Owen Kirk fell 6-0, 6-0, and Michael Reed lost at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1. In doubles action, East’s No. 1 duo of Trevor Ernst and Micah Wettschurack were beaten 6-0, 6-1 and the No. 2 doubles team of Jonas Newell and Carson Hartsook lost 6-0, 6-1.
