Columbus East girls soccer team celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday by hosting Hoosier Hills Conference rival Jennings County. The match ended in a 1-1 tie after the Olympians scored a late goal to even things up. Emma Christie, who started the match as goalie and made seven saves in her 63 minutes between the posts, moved to offense in the second half. In the 76th minute, Christie found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1, thanks to an assist from Sophie Glick. Cara Veach stepped in as goalie for the final 17 minutes and made one save. Despite being outshot 9-4 on goal, the Olympians held their ground and managed to come away with a draw on a night that celebrated the contributions of their senior players.
