Olympians Battle Stars in Tight Contest at Bedford North Lawrence

The Columbus East girls volleyball team showed some grit Tuesday night, battling Bedford North Lawrence in a closely contested Hoosier Hills Conference match. Although the Olympians came up short, falling 25-15, 25-22, 25-23, they showed significant improvement in the final two sets, pushing the Stars to the limit. Lauren Smith anchored the defense with 14 digs and contributed an ace, while Kimberly Carothers powered the offense with eight kills. Krea Martin orchestrated the attack with 18 assists and added 12 digs to her all-around performance. Chloe Gill also made her presence felt at the net, tallying seven kills. The Olympians are back on the court Thursday night (9/19) for another Hoosier Hills Conference clash as they travel to New Albany H.S. to take on the Bulldogs. Match time: 7 p.m.
