Columbus East High School

The Columbus East girls golf team competed in the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament Monday at Valley View G.C. in Floyds Knobs, Indiana and claimed 5th place with a score of 436. Host member, Floyd Central, won the tourney with a score of 305. The Columbus East girls golf team showed determination on the course despite missing their No. 1 player Grace LaSell, who was not available due to illness. Sophia Begley stepped up to lead the Olympians with a round of 100. Abby King followed with a 102, while Allison Sharpe contributed a 111. Amaylie Walsh shot a 125, and Sofia Perez rounded out the team's effort with a 127. The O's are back in action tonight, as they visit their cross-town rivals, the Columbus North Bulldogs, at Harrison Lake Country Club. Match time: 4:15 p.m.
