Columbus East Girls Cross-Country Takes 11th at Whiteland Invitational

The Columbus East girls cross-country team finished 11th with 251 points at Saturday’s Whiteland Invitational. Whiteland captured the team title with 40 points. Madison Swartzentruber led the Olympians, finishing 40th with a time of 22 minutes, 26.68 seconds over the 5,000-meter course. Ainslee Shaw took 55th in 24:43.72, followed by Delaney Rogers in 58th (25:05.10), Abby Collins in 73rd (25:56.44), and Elizabeth Sztaba close behind in 74th (25:56.86). The team’s efforts placed them solidly in a competitive field, with each runner contributing to the overall finish. The Olympians girls cross-country will lace up the running shoes again, joining the boys team, as they compete in the Jennings County Invitational. Run time: 9 a.m.
