2A #18 Batesville Downs Columbus East in Boys Tennis Match

Batesville delivered a strong performance on Thursday, winning all five matches in straight sets to claim a 5-0 victory over Columbus East. At No. 1 singles, Tyler Ernst battled hard but came up short, falling 6-1, 6-4. Owen Kirk fought a competitive match at No. 2 singles but lost 6-3, 6-3. Micah Wettschrack, playing at No. 3 singles, was handed a , 6-3, 6-0 loss. In doubles action, Trevor Ernst and Michael Reed showed resilience, but ultimately fell 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Jonas Newell and Carson Hartsook gave their best effort, but were unable to overcome Batesvilles strong pairing , who won 6-0, 6-0. Despite the 5-0 loss, the Olympians continue to work hard as they prepare for their next match, building on each experience as the season progresses. The O's next match is Saturday, September 14th at Shelbyville H.S. to participate in the Shelbyville Invitational. Match time: 9 a.m.
