Columbus East High School

The Columbus East girls golf team put up a great fight on Tuesday afternoon as they traveled to Seymour, IN, to take on Hoosier Hills Conference rival, the Seymour Owls, at Shadowood Golf Course. In a closely contested match, the Olympians came up just short with a score of 195 to Seymour’s 190. Despite the narrow margin, there were many standout performances for East. Grace LaSell led the team, earning medalist honors with an impressive round of 44. Abby King also had a fantastic day, achieving a personal best score of 45 – way to go, Abby! Allison Sharpe followed with a solid 49, Amalye Walsh shot a 54, and Sophia Begley contributed a 57. Kolbi Stephenson and Sofia Perez rounded out the team with matching scores of 67. The Olympians are back in action Saturday, September 14th, as they participate in the Bloomington North Golf Invitational @ Cascades G.C. Match time: 9 a.m.
